INFLUX OF FARMERS TO TUNDUMA - SUMBAWANGA DISCOVERED

Under the traditional right of occupancy scheme, farmers have a guarantee to obtain loan from financial institutions to mechanize agriculture with a collateral of land, this is a potential opportunity to new comes because of the fact that the inhabitant of the listed places have not well utilized such opportunities.

Farmers who spoken to this blog said, poor control mechanisms on fake inputs will affect production in the coming season following claims of over supply of fake seed, fertilizer and pesticides.

 

"We rural inhabitants always seen as a testing class for every bad deals, as you have seen few days ago 1000 Tons of fake fertilizer was impounded  in single shop here in Mbozi don't you think the situation is conducive for farmers" asked one resident of Ichenjezya in Mbozi District.

STACO LTD GOWDON CLOSED TODAY AFTER ALLEGATION OF SELLING FAKE FERTILIZER

STACO LTD a  agency company selling fertilizers in Mbozi District, has closed today by officials from ministry of Agriculture who accompanied with security and policy departments.

One of official from Ministry of Agriculture department from the DADPS Coordination unit said, they were directed by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture who adhockly visited last week and found the company operating illegally

Lutheran leader raps Catholic archbishop's opposition to same-sex marriage

A Lutheran bishop has chastised a Catholic prelate for organizing public opposition to a bid for legal approval of same-sex marriage.

“I recognize your authority in formulating positions for your own flock in Minnesota,” wrote Rt. Rev. Herbert Chilstrom, a retired presiding bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, in an open letter to Archbishop John Nienstadt of St. Paul-Minneapolis. 

“But for you and others to campaign for an amendment that imposes your stance on all citizens in Minnesota--including other Christians, believers of other faith groups and unbelievers--it is overstepping your bounds.”

Archbishop Nienstadt has rallied support for a referendum measure that would formalize the definition of marriage in Minnesota, stipulating that it is a union of one man and one woman.

 The referendum has drawn opposition from activists who seek to change the definition of marriage--thereby imposing their stance on others.
