FARMERS in southern highlands regions are now ready for production after the first rain dropped today in most of regions.
In Mbozi District farmers have declared happier day on Idd day after heavy rain dropped, alerting new farming season to take off.
However the season starts while the government is still quit on the supply of subsidized fertilizer and its attachment including seeds
Farmers who spoken to this blog said, poor control mechanisms on fake inputs will affect production in the coming season following claims of over supply of fake seed, fertilizer and pesticides.
"We rural inhabitants always seen as a testing class for every bad deals, as you have seen few days ago 1000 Tons of fake fertilizer was impounded in single shop here in Mbozi don't you think the situation is conducive for farmers" asked one resident of Ichenjezya in Mbozi District.
rain started at 1.50 noon hours prolonged to 3.00 pm where as for the urban inhabitant also saw this as opportunity in removing dust which has sustained for almost five months.
